Other than death or financial ruin, I can't figure out ONE reason to sell one.

I reckon a number of foolish folks have sold 'em or traded 'em away for one of them newfangled jam-o-matics. Dennis

Well, if you read posts in general on here, it seems that a lot of people have an obsession with selling and trading guns. I frequently read posts saying something like: I hadn't fired the gun in months so I decided to get rid of it.
As if it was eating him out of house and home. Like it was hurting something by just sitting there. Like there is no way anyone could possibly stand having it sit there and you have to "rid" yourself of it like a disease.

I don't get it either. I have no idea why someone would sell one other than S&W. If I decided that I wanted a different barrel length or something I would keep the ones I have and buy that one in addition. And no, I am not rich, I would just wait until I saved the money to do it. If I was in financial ruin (been there), I can't envision how a few hundred dollars would bail me out. After I got divorced I didn't own a car for several years. I walked to work, but didn't sell any of my guns.

My guess is that relatives who are not shooters tend to sell them. I bought a 1948-vintage K-22 Masterpiece from the son of the owner earlier this year. When the owner passed away, his son sold all or most of his firearms. I was told that this K-22 had sat idle for close to twenty years.

First couple came from Schuzi's, downtown Lafayette. Last one came from the show in Indy, dealer out of Terre Haute.

I have seen alot of posters who have to sell one gun to finance another. Also alot of the newer shooters have taken the advice and bought a .22lr as their first handgun, quickly grow tired of it and sell it. Many many nice .22lr revolvers get tossed aside as the new shooters dive head first into the 9mm and 40SW bottom feeder market.

I sold my model 17 twenty-odd years ago because the offer was good—and regretted it almost immediately and for a long time thereafter.

I recently purchased a K-22 because the owner apparently throught there was something wrong with it.

Someone else will buy it after I'm dead and cremated, and the proceeds will be evenly divided between the N.R.a. and the G.O.A.
