So what is a ROA going for these days? I may have a lead on one and have no clue what they go for.

Thanks

(Search was not working, I tried but got a blank page)

Strawhat, I bought mine about ten months ago. It belonged to the guys Father. He thought it was never fired. I gave him $250 for it. If it was fired I could not tell. I think they are going for around $500. Depending on condition and stainless or blued. Ruger doesn't make them no more so that ups the anti.
Mine has adjustable rear sites and is a good shooter. And I won't part with it.
Good luck

This month I became the owner of a ROA once again. I paid $300 for it. This is the exception not the rule. I had been pricing them for almost a year. The blued models went from $350 to well over $400 a copy with the SS models demanding more. The BP community is well aware of the increasing demand and prices are rising. The good news is that the shooting community as a whole are not as aware of the price increases.

IMHO, $400 is good. Expect to be asked for more. Keep the faith, a ROA is the first gun many conventional shooters will turn when times get hard (harder).

Check this out - it's a Ruger Old Army with a 5.5" barrel and birdshead grips. You have to load the cylinder in a stand (no loading lever). But, the original frame and grips are included. It's like two two two guns in one. I handled the gun with the birdshead grips and at first it was awkward, but then it wasn't bad at all.
They had two of these guns for sale Sunday (in Maine). I'd get one but I gotta stop buying guns.

I paid $250 for my ROA at auction about 2 years ago, stainless, unfired, only because they had listed it as a stainless blackpowder revolver and it wasn't in the Ruger section so it got few bids as it was competing against the Italians that were going for $150 or so at the time.

Here's one that is the 5 1/2 inch barrel , fixed sights and will you look at them
grips. Also comes with a R&D 45 Colt cyclinder. Around 300 right now, but
I'm sure it will get a little higher. Worth watching tho.

I almost felt guilty, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure how anyone could miss the bird on the grip and the seller didn't even list it right or mention in the discription that it was a Ruger, just said it was an unfired gun of his father that he had to sell. No close up pics either or anyone could of read it. I knew what they looked like, because I had wanted one for years.

pohill...Saw that and it's close twin recently at KTP. Missing the loading lever as you state and even with the original grip frame I see it as overpriced by more than just a little. JMO though.

The salesman told me they had the loading lever and original frame to revert it back to a "normal" ROA. No loading lever puts it in the overpriced range.

I found mine after an ass from gander mountain said he didnt care that the law in michigan had been changed, and u no longer needed a purches permit to buy one,he wasnt selling me one, even at the 650.00 he quoted me,i told him that in my opinion everyone who deprived a us citizen of thier constitoutinal rights should be charged with treason.futhermore I will not ever buy any thing from gander mountain again. I went to a flea market and paid 400.00 us for a nib blued tack driver, ill never part with.:)Im going for 5 days of muzzeloading season in michigan ,the area has more than 50 deer per sq, mi. I love the extra 6 shots when the action gets hot ,wish me luck<
