This is a bit delicate to say the least, but the subject of peeing or soiling one's pants in a gunfight - or the BG *****ting himself soon as the Home Owner racks an 870 ;) - comes up time and time again on this forum.

I always figured this was hyperbole -imagery if you will- to express how scary a gunfight is. That I can well imagine...but actually *****ting oneself ???
If shot, then I'd guess anything is possible.

So then, is this peeing and soiling business for real?

This matter came up -again- today in this thread by Palu on how many ended up emptying their guns in a gun fight.

"Due to the nature of the incidents, few will talk about it. Most will empty their bowels or bladder before their gun."

Part of mammal "fight or flight" instincts. For animals in immediate danger, they want to instantly dump all excess weight by voiding their bladders and bowels so that they can run faster.

Humans can experience this as well although by differing degrees.

This is pretty far off topic for the handguns forum and questionable at best for S&T.
