So I went up to Lansing to advocate for HB 5474, which is a campus carry bill

Second-year Wayne State University medical student Peter Howard told the committee he should be able to carry a concealed weapon on campus. He arrives at school early in the morning, and doesn't leave until late at night.
"I take precautions to walk in lighted areas, (but) a close friend of mine got robbed at gunpoint last year," Howard said. "I'm not living in fear, but it's something I'd like to take precaution with."

Are you a member of Students for CC on Campus (SCCC) I recently met the head of my local chapter, and it was enlightening. We need to get the message out, I hate the people who equate 'gunfree' with crime free.

Unfortunatly, most "reporters" seem to have the attention span of a caffeinated chihuahua. We deal with them all the time at my job, and I can't recall the last time they got something right...

In each case the news coverage was badly flawed. Either people were misquoted or basic facts of the situation were in error in the news report.

Yeah, George, the head of the local SCCC was telling me about that, last year he did a two hour interview that was summed up in a clip quoting somebody else with a back ground of him and the reporter talking, all that was mentioned was that the reporter spoke to a representative of SCCC.

Now he just sticks to the live talk radio, I was with him (actually bumped into him) at one of the local gun stores that just moved. He was talking to the owner, the owner said that he never talks to the media after they did a similar hack job to him.

Apparently he did such a good job that the reporter couldn't get her "crazy gun idiot" sound bite.

Indeed, very nice job if even after their butcher job you still sound like a sensible, normal guy. Maybe you can get my state straightened out when you're done up there. :)
