Does kydex always leave marks on satin finishes?

I have had a few kydex holsters and they have been for black pistols. I never noticed any marks on them from the kydex other than holster wear from normal use. But now I have a stainless pistol in a kydex hybrid holster and the areas that have the satin finish on them get loaded with black marks all over them. The smooth stainless areas don't build up any black marks on them. While the black comes off, it's sort of annoying. Is this always the case with kydex and satin finishes? I know the satin finish causes more friction on it so I assume it's actually rubbing a bit of the kydex off every time it slides across it. I also assume that eventually it will leave shiny marks on the satin finish from the friction. This is thick kydex also...like .9 stuff so maybe it doesn't have enough give and that's the issue.

has on my stainless guns. just in a couple of places [the retention points]. after a few years when i changed holsters the marks mostly buffer/polished out. cant do that with a blue gun!

Satin finishes are probably the equivlient of 1200, or finer, grit sandpaper. All you're doing is sanding the holster to fit the gun. Try rubbing your fingernail on it.

Try a spritz of silicone spray.

Should make the Kydex slicker and less prone to abrasion from the slide.

I guess it depends on the degree of "satin". I have a stainless knife that had the blade fine bead blasted. The kydex has been "polishing" the satin smooth where it makes tighter contact with it in the sheath. A rougher satin finish might cause transfer from the sheath to the tiny pores of the surface of the steel.
