As my milsurp collection grows, so does the pile of unusable leather accessories. They range from mildly stinky to caked with mold.

I may want to use one of these pouches or slings some day, so does anyone know an easy method to clean moldy leather that I can do at home?

Scrape any buildup off with the back of a butter knife and scrub with saddle soap. If the mold is leaving stains, try a weak bleach/water solution, then more sadlle soap. When partially dry, start soaking with a good leather conditioner. This worked pretty well on some scabbards and field holsters that were left in a barn over a Winter and Spring season.
