I have Rockchucker , so far used it for .45 ACP, now I tried to use it with 6.5x55 lee die for rifle, shell holder came with lee die set goes into Rockchucker shellholder slot very hard , seems very very tight, i had to use rubber mallet pounding to put it in, and get it out, .45 die and shell holder I used RCBS set, and no problem with RCBS shell holder using only finger to put it in and out.
so Is lee shell holder and RCBS Rockchucker are not a good match? How's your Rockchucker press with lee shell holder?

I've had no problems with Lee shell holders in my Rockchucker press. In fact, Lee is about all I use for shell holders since I bought a set of 10 different holders in a case. You might have gotten a poorly machined one. Check the various diameters with a caliper and see how it differs from the RCBS.

I've had the same problem with my RCBS press. Anything but RCBS shell holders are too tight or won't go in at all. I thought it was just my press, but looks like I have company. Somebody suggested that I mill or sand down my shell holders just enough to make them fit. I think it would be better to just buy RCBS shell holders.

I've loaded several thousand rounds of .45ACP; .44 Mag; and various rifle calibers on my Rockchucker, using Lee shellholders. Have you tried putting a little lube on the part of the shellholder that slips into the Rockchucker's slot? Do you "twist" the shellholder into the slot?? (I do.) I have found a few Lee shellholders to be a little tight, but once they're in, there's no problem.

For the price of 2 RCBS holders you can get an entire set of Lee holders and have money left over for sandpaper. I'm a cheap bastard and I recommend tweaking the Lees to fit rather than modifying your very nice press or spending extra money on the RCBS holders.

My friend Kamicosmos has a RCBS Special 5 and the Lee holders don't seem any tighter on it than my Lee Challenger press (which is to say, pretty damn tight).
