Suggestions for a good running holster

Hello gents, I jog, (running is sort of an overstatement), and I carry a P-32 Kel-Tec, in a Fobus paddle holster. I wear BDU pants with a 1 1/2" belt. I have tried carrying a larger gun, and would like to, but the last time I did, it gave me severe muscle pain along the waistline after about 2 miles. This was with a Glock 22 .40 caliber in a Fobus paddle holster. So the question here is, does anybody know of a good way to carry a full size pistol or revolver while jogging without it killing me? Does anybody here do it on a regular basis? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I carry a Beretta 92 in a fanny pack without any problems. Of course I've been using a fanny pack for years and I'm use to it.

Where do you position it? Middle of front, either side, or middle of the back?

I carry my glock 35 on a IWB holster.
That sucker won't move, but I do the "old-fart-dont-jump-too-much" easy jog.

I like a fanny pack worn on the Back (on the fanny) rather than the front (like Smartcarry). It is the only time I favor a fanny pack for anything. Worn on the back makes it ride better for me.
Common enough to be discreet and can also hold ID, keys, and other necessities you will likely want to carry anyway.

A fanny/waist pack may be the best solution. We use them while out walking or biking.

I too carry a P32 for jogging... I have never had any luck with anything bigger being comfortable. I would say that carrying your gun inside the waistband is likely the best bet. Even though the holster will get sweaty, IWB will prevent the gun from bouncing around too much. Just cinch your belt up nice and snug and off you go.
I think the P32 and 1 extra mag is enough gun for jogging... unless you are jogging through Falluja.

Thank you fellows. To KBintheSLC, I agree with you about it being enough gun. I just like the idea of having a larger, say, more visible, more present gun on my person while jogging. It's just something about being a few miles from home and out of breath at the same time.

I have looked at this very thing and I am thinking that a shoulder holster of some sort may be the way to go. The shoulder holster that NAA sells for the mini revolver looks okay but I bet there is one out there that would house a J Frame too.
I have concealed a mini revolver in an I Pod upper arm holster. Works pretty good and is very fashionable. I like something more than just 22 magnum though but it works in a pinch.

I too have thought a shoulder holster might be just the ticket, even for a large handgun.

For those of you that suggest IWB or shoulder rigs, what do you wear when you go for a run?
For me, it's an Airlite in a fanny pack, middle of the back. Also holds cell phone, keys, MP3 player, and two half-liter water bottles if I want. The gun is positioned as to be easily reachable. I keep it in a pocket holster to protect the trigger guard, even though there is nothing else in the compartment the gun rides in. For easier access, it can quickly be spun 90 degrees on the waist if I want to keep my hand on it while moving.

I have never shoulder carried.....yet but I do wear a fairly loose UA tee. I think it would work good for the short runs I do. But it would chafe on longer ones.
The MP3 player trick is pretty good with the Mini Revovler though. Just kind of small.

Update! I think I might have found a solution to my problem. It is stop running. No really, I bought a Galco combat master holster for the Wife's Ruger Service Six. It also just happens to fit my Smith and Wesson 32-20 4" hand ejector. The Smith is not very heavy, and the Galco holster seems to distribute the weight well enough to not give me a cramp. So now I am running with a more powerful sidearm, but the main thing is that is bigger and more visible. Thats really what I was after, a more visible, open carried, make you think before attacking me while I jog handgun.

Jogging is folding knife territory for me.

Perhaps a treadmill if you don't like being out of breath and far away from home?
