I don't know why, but I seem to be fascinated with military semi-auto's. Not converted F/A's, but true military-semi auto's from that brief period between bolt-actions and assault rifles. The SKS, FN49, Tokarev, Garand, you name it, I think it's cool. Unfortuanetly I don't own any of these :( But hopefully an SKS will come soon...

They are some of my favorites as well. What I want next is an FN49, or an M1 carbine, or a Garand, or a Mas 49/56, or...

Boy oh boy do you live in the wrong state to fall in love with semi-auto long guns! :(
But, I share your love for them.

Going through that same love affair myself. Have acquired this year
Yugo SKS
Garand from CMP
STG58 (yeah I know, not exactly what you were referring to)
HK G3 (same deal)
Agree that an FN49 would be fun

SOG just got in some .308 Argentine FN-49s with detachable mags for $650(?).
Not for Kommiefornians, PRNJ, MD, etc.
