721 bolt converting 30-06 to 300 weatherby

I have a 721b 30-06 that was converted to left hand back in the 50s. I want to rebarrel this rifle to 300 Weatherby.
Can this rifle's custom left hand bolt be "opened up" to a magnum boltface?
If not, could a left handed 700 Remington bolt work?
Any ideas?

Since the 721 was offered in a magnum version I will tentavily say yes, it can be opened up. However, you say yours is a custom made left hand bolt, so you would be wise to have an expert look at it. As for a 700 bolt in the 721, Nope.
Alright now, I want to see a picture of your conversion, sounds "interesting".

Since it was offered in 300 H&H, this should be do-able given a proper gunsmithing job. I presume that a left-hand bolt was fitted when this rifle was converted, to get the ejector and extractor in the proper place.

Update....
Changed my mind and rebarreled it to 270 win. Easy greasy.... When the time is right I will buy a 300 Weatherby in a Ruger 1.....
