I took apart my 1187 and when I put it all back together the trigger wont fire the hammer . I never had the trigger group out or apart just the bolt .

my guess is the hammer isnt cocked just pull out the trigger assembly and pull back the hammer

I did that , before the forearm is installed and then tightened down everything works fine . Once I install the forearm and tighten down the retaining nut the trigger goes limp even if the hammer is cocked or not .

It sounds like you have something installed wrong with either the bolt, carrier assy., or the gas pistons that is taking the bolt out of battery when it is all tightened up. Possibly the two piece gas piston stacked wrong if yours has that style. Or the o-ring on the wrong side of the piston. I own one, never had that trouble though.

OK I think what the problem was I didnt have the gas piston hardware in the right order .It may not have been letting the bolt carrier go all the way into battery .I am sure that like most guns the trigger is inoperable if the bolt is not all the way forward into a full battery position
