have a rem 1100 3 in mag that the bolt keeps hanging up it seems the carrier slide keeps geting stuck and it is hard to cycle te bolt by hand to remove the unfired shells. anny sugest,s thanks in advance graveyard shift

I don't mean to sound rude, but how long has it been since you have cleaned it...thoroughly?

Rem 1100's need some TLC in regards to several areas that are often overlooked. First, ensure that the exterior of the magazine tube, as well as your rings are clean. Second, ensure that your recoil spring (in the tube in stock) is clean....especially if you oil your gun and store it vertically. The spring tends to gum up if you do. You will have to remove your recoil pad and stock. Be careful removing your spring pin and spring as it can fly out (wear eye protection). Last but not least, ensure that the inside of your magazine tube is clean. Take the spring out, clean the inside of the tube, and if possible, get a steel magazine follower (Choate sells a good one).

I think if you take care of these three areas...you will be fine.

You also may want to remove the trigger group...spray it with solvent (none better than Hoppe's)....rinse it in very hot water....re-lube it...the reinstall.

I shoot a lot of skeet with my 1100 (5k per year) and give it a detail cleaning twice a year.
