I just bought a Ruger Redhawk and a scope. What rings and mounts do you recommend. I saw the ones pictured below and like them because no gunsmithing is needed. Any body have experience with these mounts or recommend other mounts?

Is that the b-square? I tried one that came with the Redhawk I traded for--once. It marked the barrel when cranked down tight enough to secure the scope, and was difficult to ensure a straight fit. Short story, the Weigand mount--which requires drilling and tapping--is far superior, as well as cheaper. The Redhawk top-strap is plenty strong to stand having a couple little holes in it, and you will never worry about the Weigand working loose. It's also considerably less chunky and heavy than the clamping-gizmo from b-square. My limited experience, for what little it's worth.

I wouldn't use a clamp-on mount like that on a hard recoiling handgun like the Ruger Redhawk. Get the good stuff: quality will be appreciated long after the price is forgotten.

The Weigand sight base is good, but IMHO the strongest possible handgun scope mount is the T'SOB from SSK (see here (http://www.sskindustries.com/atlantis/handgun.html) and scroll down for details). It would be my choice for a hard-recoiling gun.

It can handle more than two rings, for greater scope support, as illustrated in this picture from the SSK Web site.

SSK certainly makes great stuff, as good as can be found.
But you can do the same thing with the Jack Weigand mounts: http://www.jackweigand.com/rings.html
