Cabela's has a variety of blackpowder revolvers, some are uberti but for many there is no brand listed. Does anyone happen to know who makes the majority of the models they carry?

Anyone have experience with any of these? I don't think I'd be shooting one much, but I've always wanted one just to plink around with and make smoke :)

Pietta Makes most of them, I honestly thought they made them all but I'm not sure. I not real familiar with their quality but I think they have a pretty good rep. Other with more knowledge than me will be here shortly.

Most are Pietta , the Uberti ones say they are Uberti I beleive , the rest are Pietta .
Quality of both are good , Uberti finishes their guns better , but you pay more .
Thinking you will probably not shoot one much is probably not going to happen . You will either never shoot one again or you will completely cross over to the Dark Side and nearly only shoot BP revolvers and thier bretherin and sisterin for the rest of your time on earth. :D .
I have alot of nice Modern guns , the only one I have shot in a long long long long time is my .45acp 1911 .......the rest sit :) .. and I wouldn't have it any other way :D

Jaeger, I'm sure I will be hooked, and if thats the case I'd be happy buying top shelf later on. I just noticed those Pietta's were at a pretty low price point so I thought it would be a good way to jump into black powder.

Thanks for the info everybody! With the holidays coming up it maybe after the first of the year, but I will let everyone know the good news when I get one and take it for a whirl! :)

that is a good way to get into the BP revolvers thing , nearly impossible to beat thier prices , especaiily right now , they really do have some great deals .
One thing to be aware of is you get what you pay for :) , and some of these Repros may need some tinkering to function nicely . My experience has been pretty good though in general with them and the guns .
Good luck to you and your choice , whichever you decide on . Maybe Santa will bring you one for X-Mas , if you beg her :D .........
When you get one , if you have any questions , just ask , there are alot of smart people here .

Back when I worked for Cabela's we sold Piettas and Ubertis. The Piettas were most of our stock. Ubertis consisted of The Walker and the .31 Baby Dragoon. Piettas filled out the rest. 1860s, Remingtons, Navys etc.etc. I have both brands and am very addic...happy! Yeah that's it, happy. Have fun choosing your hogleg and jump in, the water is fine:evil:

Where else other than Cabelas can you purchase Ubertis? Also how does Euroarms Revolvers stack up against the others?

I just typed in "Uberti" into GunBroker and got a return of 5 pages of currently active auctions. Plenty to pick from, and no FFL needed.
