Saw a nice looking P-32 yesterday...

This guy who works in a gun shop near here had sent the top end off to be plated with something that looks like very slick & shiny stainless steel. (I think it was actually high polished hard chrome.) He's put a LOT of rounds through it and this slick finish is holding up perfectly. He then told me that he had had the entire top end, including the extractor, done like this for less than $100.00. I field stripped his P-32 to check for flaking or wear and there was none. Even the barrel was mirror slick. The website is www.apwcogan.com

Anyone else tried them? Good/bad?? This looked GREAT to me. He told me that he's put about a "zillion" rounds of Gold Dot HP through his P-32 with NO RIMLOCK. Slick=no wear. I was impressed.

Thanks,
KR

Kel-Tec does this for $20.00 (hard chome the slides), P-32, P-11 and P-3AT

Parkerized is $15.

I might be mistaken but I believe those are the folks that do the hard chroming for Kel-Tec. Obviously, a job like the one described would cost more than the standard KT hard chrome.

CZ-100 is right.

Not only that, but they do it FAST (or did for me, anyway).

I sent in my P32 slide to be chromed using FedEx overnight and had it back in my hands 2 days later! They must have done the work the day they receivied it and shipped it right back out. I guess YMMV! :)

I beleive they just send you a new chrome slide. You don't recieve the same one you sent.

I don't like mirror finishes. Luckily, the factory KT hard chrome is matte satin.

A buddy of mine suggested the same thing back when this happened. I wouldn't doubt it, but I'm still pleased with the result.

I've already had that done. Along with a gray grip frame, smooth extractor, chrome belt clip and trigger shoe. The result is really nice, but I do like this bright finish. To my eyes, it just looks better, or more...well finished, I guess. (Hey! No offense meant to those who like the frosted look. :) )
I shoot mostly 73gr Fiocchi FMJ round nose bullets. Anybody shoot all hollow points or all FMJ's? Just curious about that.
