My friend has a Mauser bayonet for a k98 we believe, that we can not ID who made it.

Can anyone help ??

It is marked with a MA 8 29 with no other markings. None of the local experts can ID this.

tip on getting the close-up of the lettering: instead of moving your camera close to the bayo (which is beyond the capability of your lens unless you have a macro lens), set your camera to its highest resolution and take the picture from as far away as you need to be to keep it in focus. Import the resulting image into Photoshop or whatever photo program you have, and zoom into the closeup digitally and re-save the photo. If you don't have the capability to do so on your computer email the photo to me and I will try to help.
