I'd guess at CCI#11 or Rem #11 fitting even if they'd need to be squeezed to stay on if a hair loose. Get #10's next time if loose and if #11 fit you're good.

Well I can't say it was late when I typed this above so .... I willl go with Track of the Wolf too... may wanna get them Treso nipple they are said to be really good.

Track of the Wolf has an extensive cross checking chart,by manufacturer, with thread size pitch, etc. that's where you'll find your answers, young Jedi.

The manual say's it takes a #11 cap but I need to know what size nipples. I know they come in different thread sizes. Would you happen to know what they might be ?

I would say that they probly be a #11 nipple depending on Lyman being a ASM or a Uberti but I think they are the same. I believe you can get the Treso/Ampco nipples in #11 or as a #10.
I can't remember a popular rev parts place on line that sells the cone foe them also. Ooops I remembered VTI ... you can compare mfg. revs nipple P/N to other mfg. P/N to see if they differ or not.

If your gun is an ASM or Uberti it will take the 12X28 threaded nipple. If a Pietta it will take the 6X.75mm thread. Which cap it takes will vary. The cap size does not matter if the threads don't match.

Uberti 51 Navy takes a 5.5X.9 nipple
Pietta 51 Navy takes a 6X.75 nipple

This is from the DGW catolog #157

Now you need to figure out who made your revolver, CVA was the importer.

CVA's were ASM's early on,then Piettas.

I think madcratebuilder is right regarding the newer Ubertis. A friend of mine has a newer '61 Navy and said it took a different thread. My 30+ year old Uberti '61 Navy takes the 12X28 nipple.

I don't know what manufacturer it is only that it is a CVA. He probably bought it in the mid 80's. I had one just like it but sold it to a friend. So again how do I figure that out ? don't want to buy something and have it be wrong. Would the serial # be helpful ?

Your most likely bet is a 6X.75 nipple. VTI is a good source, and if you try one,and it doesn't fit, return them and get the 5.5X.9 nipple.

Look along the barrel or under the rammer on the barrel or on the side of the frame for the manufacturer. If not the entire name it will have the letters ASM, SM, (Armi San Marco) or a diamond with FAP (Pietta) inside, or a circle with the letters DGG (Euroarms) superimposed on each other, or an octagon with a "U" inside (Uberti).

Take the cylinder to the local hardware and select the following size bolts:
SAE 12x28, 1/4x28
Metric 6x1.0, 6x0.75
One of them will screw in nicely. The others will either not start or will be hard to turn.

Since you are asking for the Nipples and not the caps, I see the first reply got off track. CVA is usually a standard 6mm Nipple, same as the Traditions.
