but it looks like American Shooting is still closed due to flooding. Have to put it off another week, but at least I can clean guns for fun.

From l to r:
Ruger Mk 1 with Tactical Solutions upper
Sig Trailside 6"
Chinese copy of a Walther TT Olympia
Bersa Long Slide

All of them are fun in their own way.

That's a really nice high brow collection. I'm afraid I can't feel all that sorry for you either.... :D

However I hope American Shooting is insured if they are experiencing flooding at this moment.

And what's with the cheater sight on the .... er... on the .... oh hell, I'm too new to shooting to recognize anything for certain other than the Ruger. What ARE those other four?

They're located in a flood control reservoir so it's not unusual at all for them to flood when we get a lot of rain. Probably keeps their rent down.

The Sig Trailside has a Pentax red dot on it, they work fine for .22's although I have not tried it on a centerfire. When they first started importing them you could get them for $20 from the discount houses. I thought I would give it a try for that price and it's remained ever since. Interestingly it also has a built in back-up open site.

BG: I'm curious about the Chinese copy of the Walther Olympic. How is it overall, in terms of quality and accuracy, where did you get it, and how much did you have to pay (if you don't mind my asking)? Even a ballpark figure would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

The Chinese copies were imported for a few years in the late 90's early 2000's, I don't think they have brought them in for a while. I paid $180 for it at a local shop in 99% condition. I do see them occassionally at some of the on-line dealers and gunbroker, it seems they usually go for $175-200.

The grips are very poorly done and I cleaned my up and refinished them, the machining, fit and finish is actually pretty decent, trigger pull is ok, but not great with a bit of a long pull. It's a decent plinker for me at 15 yards but the sights aren't much so I don't try shooting it at 25 or 50 yards, not that I'm steady enough anymore to do that anyway.
