Kinda goes like this. Way back when, a guy amed John Moses Browning. made what many to consider, the finest fighting handgun. Carry's a heavy payload, dead nuts accurate and probably one of the most ergonomically friendly grips out there. It is also the most tinkered with, accessorised, custom groomed handguns out there. My whole way of thinking, isif it isn't the best fighting handgun out, then why do so many companies make them? It is definetly more than a cult following. And to think, with all of the different makes and models out there, I still like the Colt Government Model the best. It just doesn't get any better.:p

Browse around the 1911 forum a bit, I'm sure you'll get interested even more into 1911's rather quickly.

Then you go to the range and try one out...

... then you go to the stores to feel all of them...

then you fill out the paper work and bring one home with you...
