I picked up a Savage Model 63 just like the one I had when I was 10 at a gun show today. The stock has been poorly refinished and I like to straighten it out It looks like it takes a key to unlock the action from the stock. Does anyone know how this works please?
Thanks,
Scott

No idea, sorry. That was the gun I wanted in 1963, but I never got one. My uncle gave me a Marlin Mountie.
I looked at the schematic, but it didn't help.

1963 was the year I bought it. Had to mow a whole bunch of lawns and sell a whole bunch of vegetables to earn the money.

What type of "key"?
Like the ones used on the Keystone Cricket?
Maybe a pic would help us out.
