I am a police officer. I just bought a 1911 and I want to carry it on duty. I have found magazine carriers for it but not a holster unless its something like a fobus or some other type of conceal and carry holster. It has to be at least a level two and has to have a basket weave finish.

we were issued the 6280 (rotating hood) for our Sigs and they do make one for the 1911 (above link)

you could also look at the 6360 ALS (locking block) holster as i found the release a bit more natural.

i currently use a 6378 paddle holster for my S&W 1911SC for CCW

another popular holster is the Blackhawk CQC w/Serpa lock...they also have a rotating hooded model for an additional level of retention.

i found the CQC very fast but a bit more bulky (not usually a concern for a duty rig)...i now use this for teaching

I just got the Serpa and I really like it, but it's not basket-weave.

^^^
go with the Carbon Fiber finish and tell them it is the "new" basket weave :D

i'll bet you could take a hi-def picture of basket weave, add a protective coat on top, an adhesive on the back and stick it on the body...just a thought

Safariland makes excellent products with multiple levels of retention
