I was out on a road trip for work today, and just coincidentally, by chance, my route took me by a couple of gunstores and pawn shops.

In a pawn shop I found a new Classic Model 27...yes with the lock. I think the lock is ugly but it is not a deal breaker for me.

It was one of these:

It was SLIGHTLY used. I thought it was new.

It had $749 on it. I didn't have time to wait on the salesman, he was busy selling an electric guitar, so I left...but I kept trying to think of a reason to take the long way back to my office. ;)

Anybody have a Classic Model 27 with a 4" barrel?

Gun store asking price was $799, I negotiated down to $700 and was one happy a$$ camper :D

Yes I read that thread with envy. Had it been a pre-lock 27 I would have bought it for $749 and felt like I got a great deal.

I called the pawn shop and asked about the 27 today. The salesman did say there might be some negotiating room on the price. I may stop in on Monday and see how low they will go.
