Madison

Early Thursday morning, the Wisconsin assembly passed a bill that would end Wisconsin's 130 year old ban on carrying concealed weapons.
The assembly voted 64 to 35 to approve the same legislation that the senate approved last month. However, the assembly made some changes to the bill. So the bill must go back to the senate for approval before it will go to the governor for signing. The law would give people the right to carry concealed guns in most public places. Guns would be off limits in certain places including churches, taverns, police stations and schools. Supporters say it would make for a safer society since criminals wouldn't know who might be armed.
