I have a 1911 with a Novaks tactical rail installed on the dustcover. I had this done about a year ago and I have now decided I don't want it on there anymore.

There were 3 holes drilled in the dustcover and I have got 2 of the screws loose but the third will not budge. Also, the rail itself is, I believe silver soldered to the frame. Is there a way to break the third screw free as well as remove the silver solder from the rail and frame.

I know the finish on the frame will be messed up a little but I can live with that.

BTW, the gun is an RIA Tactical

Take a soldering gun and heat the screw that is still in. It might come out easily or not.

If it was silver soldered, it will require very high heat to remove it. The finish will definitely be ruined. Gonna get expensive .......
