I purchased a Springfield Arms double barrel side by side its an older gun the only markings on it is the 12ga proof steel on the barrel it was made chicopee mass. it is not pitted and in good condition what is an average book value. I only paid 100.00 dollars for it so i am sure is worth that. or where can i find some history on this gun.
thank-you

There is much here on this site re: Savage, Stevens, Springfield models 311 and 5100.
They're basically all the same gun.
Do a search on the combinations above and you will be reading for hours.
Remove the barrels and inside the receiver you may see a stamped letter inside a circle.
If yours doesn't have a serial #, starting with "A" in 1948 and going forward, you can get an idea what year the gun was manufactured.
Good luck with it.

In good condition, no rust, few bruises on the stock, from $200-350. You got a good deal.
