All I think about is handguns and shooting...and now that I discovered I can get this site at work....it's even worse......is it just me??I'll find myself watching some horrible movie,just to see the guns in it........I go by the gun shop at least twice a week,sometimes just to browse(but I usually buy something).....every converstaion I start has something to do w/ shooting...I actually get mad when someone's not listening when I'm talking about IDPA or shooting or guns..........the last time I was this involved in something I was 14 and her name was Gretchen!!!Someone please help me......:uhoh:

Yes, you are obsessed!:uhoh: Whether that is a problem is a whole other issue. I know that I am rather obsessed with guns as well, but for the life of me I can't figure out why.:confused: I've often wondered if people that have other hobbies become this rapped up in them. I guess I could go ask some stamp collectors or golfers to find out. It is good to know that I'm not alone in this. :D Best regards, Mike

Get it out of your system first (I think about guns more than most men my age think about sex) then go back and do all your normal human being stuff and reach tactical equilibrium. Remember, with proper mindset, you can achieve tacticality without needing a gun and find tacticalness in every facet of your life such as getting a swig of milk at night to crossing the street. :cool:

Tony ..... am only guessing here but .. have to suspect that shooting .......is, relatively at least ....... a more recent sport you have taken up?

I can think back near 25 years when I seemed (I admit) to eat, drink, sleep and breathe guns and shooting ... reload whenever i could . get everything ready for weekend competitions .... read every gun rag cover to cover ..... and so on! Any excuse to ''drop in'' to gun shop ... and yeah, always bought something .. even if just powder or primers!

Obsessing? yep, reckon I was! But over time the whole thing ''settles'' into a lower level of obsession ... more toward a compelling interest! Now with age and less opportunity I guess it has swung even a bit the other way .... but it still is right up there with all my interests (I have way too many!).

Is the obsession harmful?? Well nope .. not unless it either drives you too close to bankrupcy and/or ruins an otherwise perfectly good marriage. I luckily stayed just this side of the fence back then ... and survived!!

P95..Well I'm kind of new...I've shot all my life,but not owned handguns till 10/01 when I got my permit.....I've had other hobbies that lasted maybe a year....but the gun thing is akeeper I think.....the first year I shot at least 2x a week....now I'm down to 1x(not by choice)but I see no reason for stopping........
