Hmmm, is this an invitation?

For years, the only way I could get a new gun was to sell one I already had. Everytime I'd show my wife a new gun, she'd say "what do you need another gun for?"

Last night I showed my wife the gun I just got last Sunday. When I opened the safe, she asked to take a look at the others. I only have eight guns, something that struck her immediately. She said, "I thought you had more guns than that."

OK, married folks: does that sound like an invitation to go get more? :)

I`d say it`s an invitition but to solidify things, the next time you look in the closet say, " Gee honey, I thought you had more shoes then that."

Buy a new gun and put an old one in the closet. A week after the new gun is home, bring the closet gun out and ask how long has this gun been in the closet? Look DUMB:confused:

Sounds like an invitation needs to be made to get her out to the range. Once she is reasonably interested they are much easier to justify ;) :D .

An invitation? No

Sounds more like she's proud of herself and she's reminding you who the boss is :)

I'll bet she called her girlfriends and bragged about it.

Good Luck, sounds like you need it;)

GySgt, she likes shooting revolvers, although she hasn't ever shot a 1911. Her favorite is the cheapest gun I have, a S&W 586.

Now, if I could only get her tastes in other purchases to run to the cheap side. ;)

'When I opened the safe, she asked to take a look at the others'

First mistake. Never let them see in the safe.

The trick is to get a large enough collection so that you can shuffle them around so she can't get a firm count.

Check my sig line- it works.

Oh hi honey... nothing just posting something on THR... what? No I'm not... that's not you... OUCH! HEY! STOP THAT!

You tell her: "Yeah, the others are at the store right now."

Take her to your friend's home and show her his safe. Here's the shocker. He tells her those are your guns. :D Now, when you bring another gun home, it came from the other safe.

... will usually only question if we can afford the purchase when I want another gun. Except for the latest: a 6" Beretta Neos. And she pointed out, as we left the store, that she hadn't questioned it. My response? "Well, it a great price, we could use another 22, and... you snot... you're gonna steal it, aren't you?". To which she just smiled...

Roger that! I made a BIG mistake by asking if I could write a check for an nice Yugo SKS, just 99 bucks. Answer "NO! We're spending too much at Walmart"
Guess I posed the question wrong.

I just can't believe you missed the opportunity to say, " well....I used to have a lot more...but I had to sell my best ones to get these...pout.. pout.
"It's a good thing you don't have to sell your clothes and shoes in order to get new ones."
