Hi All,

I use a shotgun for moose hunting in thick brush and marshes. Distance is limited to 100 yards and a shotgun is perfect for these conditions.

I have a Benelli Supernova smoothbore and tried Federal, Remington and Winchester slugs. I wanted Federal to shoot the best since they have more power but Winchester was the one doing 3" groups at 75 yards with modified choke.
In researching slugs I was impressed on the brenneke brand (literature describing penetration) but cannot find them anywhere in Canada. Where can I find these? The 1-800 number on their website does not work from Canada.

I think the Shooting Edge in Calgary was working on getting some Brenneke's but I haven't heard much about it recently.
I think the hang up is due to lack of french on the packaging....

I phoned the store in McAdam. Unfortunately they do not have that brand and can't get it.

I will try the Shooting Edge. I bought an Aimpoint Micro T1 from them in Sept/09 and it arrived next day to Oakville, Ontario. It would be sad if the french language thing is the reason.

I think getting ammunition across the boarder into Canada would be really difficult - I wish that wasn't the case but that is the way it is.
On a positive note, it looks like the Canadian government is scrapping the long gun registry soon. This was supposed to cost $2 million but has gone far north of $1 billion.

The shooting edge doesn't anser their phone after several tries so I sent an email. Will wait and see if they respond. Odd since I received such great service only 2 months ago...maybe they are just having a staff party or something...

Why don't you try contacting Rottweil and see if they export to anyone in Canada.

They should be able to tell you easily enough if they have importers/dealers there.

I would think Canada would be a huge market for them given the remote areas and large things with sharp teeth & horns.

OK - I sent Rottweil a message regarding brenneke. Let's see what comes back.

I would love to get a bunch of these to try out and see if they work well in my Benelli so I could make them the round of choice.

Hi All,

An update:

I phoned The Shooting Edge again and they say they are working with the Federal Government Explosives Branch since the last 2 years trying to get Brenneke brand ammunition approved in Canada. The process continues and until complete looks like nothing will be available till then. Once complete they are trying to be the exclusive importer of this brand.

I can't imagine the testing coming up with any different results than other countries but looks like it's a waiting game...
