Got this fella at 06:55 am on the morning of Sunday the 8th, East of English in Eastern Red River County. Not a monster by any means, but I thought he was worthy enough for my freezer. He was 178 yds away(lasered)and I took him through the neck with my old Ruger 77 22-250, hand loaded 55gr. Nosler ballistic tip on top of 37.2 grs of Hodgdon H4350. Had a 16" inside spread and 8 pts. Check out those evil green eyes.

Only got to hunt Saturday morning because I had to come home and go to Whitesboro and watch my daughter play in a volleyball playoff match. Sat morning was slow with only a spike and this unlucky feller. 123 yds lasered, right in the chest,DRT. Big old male, weighed 37lbs with my Zebco fish scale(not sure how accurate they are, but he was heavy). Lured him in with one of "timbertoes" custom closed reed calls (thanks timbertoes) Got back to the lease at 11:30 Sat nite, was tired, but Sunday morning paid off.

Now just hope my son and father-in-law can have some luck as well.
