Slugs/Pattern thru Dead Coyote or Gobble Stopper Xtreme chokes?

I am looking at putting a Carlson's Dead Coyote or TruGlo GobbleStopper Xtreme choke in my hunting shotgun (an 18.5" 870 with ghost ring sights) and after searching the web high and low I can't find out whether or not running slugs thru the gun without changing the choke would be a no-go. Does anyone know?

Also, though Carlson claims decent 00 buck patterns out to 70 yards, do you think I'd start to see the doughnut pattern with these tightly constricted tubes?

Lastly, anyone have a preference between the two for coyotes and bobcats?

Thanks!

A turkey choke is going to be too constricted for slugs. Full choke is about as far as you can (safely) go without having any issues.

I should have clarified that I'm asking because I can't find the sizes of the Dead Yote or Gobble Xtreme. I don't know if they are less than .715 or what. It's a secret. :D

Edit ... I just found out that the TruGlo is .665 so it's a no-go. Though other people do it ... I ain't.

And another edit ... the Carlson is .670. It took some digging, but the info is out there. Looks like a standard Remington IC or M is on order. :)

Federal Flite-Control Turkey, Predator and Buckshot loads
along with Dixie Tri-Ball (3 x .60) ammo for your heavy hitter.

Combine these with a .695 - 690 extended full choke.

I suspect you will be able to use one sight setting with all of these!

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely look into that.

I put a Comp-N-Choke Modified in today and patterned my buck and checked the ghost ring with slugs. It didn't change the slug POI at all, and now the already-very-tight Remington 2 3/4" rounds will put all 9 balls in about a 20" circle at 33 yards. The pattern looks a little weird, as they seem to be starting to 'doughnut' just a little and appear spread around in a rough circle. But since it's holding so tight it's not a biggie as far as I'm concerned. Need to chek those 3" magnums next. I don't like shooting them but MAN they sure do pack a punch.

I ran a few more patterns and used a sewing tape to measure the groups. Over many more rounds it appears the load isn't doughnut'ing after all, and the pattern maintains a relatively normal shape, on average.

Also, being able to actually measure the pellets showed the 2 3/4" 00 buck running 16 inches, max, at 32 yards (not 33 yards), and my 3" mags still running about 50% larger.
