Anybody have pictures and if possible measurements ofa stand to load BP revolvers on.
The ones I have in mind are the wooden ones. I'd like to build one to support my guns while loading at the range.

BlackNet posted 2 PDF plans in Post #15 below but the links aren't working for me right now. Maybe he can provide info. about how to access the plans if you PM him.

The pdf's may no longer be available online but someone else named "AZMusket" posted that he has them available as an attachment to those who ask:

A friend sent me two pistol stand designs that you can build. I have the complete designs in a pdf. file. Anyone wishing to receive a copy, just drop me an email and I will gladly send them as an attachment to the email.

My email address is profbond@cox.net

Features a small box on the back side. A top shelf and i added wooden 1/4 dowels all around and drilled 1/4 holes to put tools and accessories.

I'm having an idea here.....LOOK OUT!!
Over on the cylinder loader thread a McMaster Carr toggle clamp with 600 pounds force was discussed as the main component in a cylinder loader. It has a plunger with internal threads, could hold various ball and bullet rams with depth adjustment too.
It's Part # 5093A58, and it looks to me like it might fit on the side of that handy dandy loading stand in SCRAT's picture, right over where that box-o-balls is. :)
I like how the box on the back forms a gusset to strengthen the upright piece.
The handle on the top is a nice touch too.

That's thinking with your dip stick jimmy! Pretty cool, the handle is a nice touch. I like the two side approach. Now you got me thinking, loader on one side and stand on the other.
The piece that the heel of the grip rests against could be mounted with a pair of quick pull pins so you could move it to accommodate Walkers, holster and pocket frames.

dowels could hold spare cylinders...

I wonder if you couldn't set one side for a walker and the other for the smaller ones?

Need at least two. The Walker DESERVES it's own stand.

OK, I modified my loading stand design. I made this out of scrap wood and I didn't finish it or include felt because I'll make another out of oak. This one doesn't use a clip to hold the barrel and I cut a slot to use as a handle.

I used pocket screws/holes to assemble and I'll plug the holes prior to staining.

Anyway, what do ya'll think?

Mine is a simple folding job that I bought back in the mid 1970s. Commercially made, can't recall who made it.
I like it because, courtesy of a piano hinge at the bank, it folds flat. Goes right into my big fishing box that holds powder, balls, caps and all kinds of stuff for a trip to the range.

I make it a point to put my cap and powder cans, with caps down tight, behind me before I fire. So, don't leave your cans of powder, flask or caps on or near the loading bench when firing. Or when putting caps on the revolver, for that matter.

Here's the one I use, it's adjustable for different pistols and folds.
