Does anyone know the date of manufacture for a S&W Model 10 .38 special 5" Military & Police revolver, serial number 411xxx ? This is all the information I have. Thanks

It's a pre-Model 10, likely made sometime in the later 1920s to middle 1930s.

With that serial number it wouldn't be a model 10, but rather a .38 Military & Police model 1905/4th Change made somewhere between 1915 to 1942. The serial number range would be from 241704 to 700000+. I would estimate it was made during the early to middle 1920's. The only way to confirm the exact date is to request a letter from S&W historian, Roy Jinks. There is a $30.00 charge for the service.
