I can speak from experience that Bushmaster's Varminter upper is awesome.

A friend has built 2 24" Ar's on Modle 1 kits. With Nikkon glass, both rifles will shoot "minute of Big Red" 12 oz cans at 420 yards. He uses 75gr loads. His rifles are very accurate.

I have a White Oak DCM upper that is excellent...I would think a varmint upper with their barrels would be great as well.

I have a 24" upper from J&T Distributing. I can get sub-MOA with 77 gr SMKs with this rifle (the rifle at the top)
