Finally got a chance to get some range time in with the new Ruger today.
Got the new Rubber grips on. Not much to look at, but they sure keep the
hand from slipping. Rear sight screwed all the way down, center hold 10 shots
25 yds, one hand un-supported. Load 20 grs. Goex FFF, "Cream-of-Wheat'
filler and a .457 round ball. Mouth of chambers champered so as to not shave
a ring of lead. More bearing surface this way. CCI no. 11 standard caps

Sweet survival gun. Your reloading gear hangs right there under the barrel. Order up a thousand caps and a Lee .457 RB mold, and you are ''good to go...''

WHAT BHP Fan said;
Plus, now you need to get some gun leather, or make your own. Me, I make a few, but I'm nobody. I really like Bigbadgun's website tho- (hope I didn't break any forum rules there!)

Nice target! :)
I have a Blackhawk with Pachmayr Presentation grips and I like the feel of them too.
They add some support behind the trigger guard underneath the frame there, and feel good behind the backstrap too.
The grips have a little more meat to them and the rubber material makes them comfortable to squeeze.
How good they feel really is commensurate with how ugly they look!

Looks great.I have Italian replicas [a bunch] that look traditional, but the Ruger is what I'd choose if I was jumping off,and didn't know when, or if I was comeing back.If I was headed out,and had to live off whatever handgun I chose, that Ruger would be tough to beat.

Arcticap, I have a nice set of Ruger Ivory grips, I just gotta make up my mind
if I want to look good or shoot good. BHPFan, I got 15,000 caps, a mold and
600 lbs. pure sheet lead. I just gotta get the wife into molding. Got a good
fast draw holster rig. Did I ever tell you how fast I am? I am so fast on the
trigger, that I shot the whole bottom of the holster out before I ever cleared
leather! Oh, the storys I could tell.

I put these grips on mine - they're from a Blackhawk my father had in the 70s. They're not bad, they don't get slippery, but I don't think they'll hold up to black powder.
