Hey all,
When your local gun dealer doesn't stock the particular gun you want or asks way too much money, where do you turn to on the web?

I have personally had some luck with budsgunshop.com but was wondering what other good places there are out there.

Thanks

Tinstar shooting range in Oklahoma. They have a website and do their business through gunbroker. I bought a Dan Wesson pistol and Remington 700 rifle from them. Both firearms were way under retail price.

It depends a lot on what you want.

Buds is good for fairly normal stuff. Prices are usually good but not outstanding.

CDNN is great for clearance items and a few ordinary items (e.g. XD and FNP pistols). One of my favorites.

AIM Surplus is good for whatever they have in stock. Usually a very limited selection, mostly military-style stuff.

Atlantic Firearms is good. They mostly do "evil black rifle" stuff.

I have found that for fairly ordinary handguns, Gunbroker is quite good - shop carefully as many auctions are overpriced, but here and there great deals can be found.

Hey, those guys are just a few miles from me. Do you know if they have a walk in store?

Guess I could E-Mail and ask them, rather than you, huh. ;)

CDNN is great. I've ordered a bunch of stuff from them and it's always been a good deal.

I hear great things about Summit Guns as well. Their prices and shipping terms seem very reasonable.

I've found great buys on Gunbroker and Auctionarms by general or brand searches, usually it's something in the wrong place. such as a Ruger Old Army that was under b/p pistols and no mention of brand. I got it for $300, stainless NIB. Apparently only I knew it was a Ruger as that was the starting bid.

I've used Buds - Excellent Service and pretty good pricing.
My FFL loves the way they ship to him so he says...

I just made my first online firearm purchase. I bought an SGL21-61 from K-var. I haven't gotten it yet, but it was shipped out within one day of receiving my FFL's paperwork. They also had quick email responses, although I could never get a hold of them via phone. There website is easy to negotiate and they make the online purchase process very simple.

I have had success with CDNN.

And, although I've never personally dealt with them, I can't recall reading a bad word about Summit Gun Brokers.

i usually check www.SCPfirearms.com first...he's out of FL

Steve is nice to deal with and he inspects every gun before he ships it out to you. the downside is that he does not take CCs

not the greatest selection, but if you qualify, the other Bud's site is hard to beat: http://www.budspolicesupply.com/catalog/index.php

I've been checking out all the sites you guys have recommended. Thus far, at least for my interests, the most useful sites are summitgunbroker.com, budsgunshop.com, aimsurplus.com (for mil/police surplus), and gunbroker.com (not in any order). :)

Thanks for all the recommendations, I would never have found all these good sites on my own.

Now I'm off to see if I can get a C&R license from the bloody ATF. I went online to order the forms from them since they won't let you download them (bastards).

Thanks All :D

^^^ No, just not for all guns. I don't understand their system I guess. I clicked on this Glock (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_43/products_id/56872) but to see the price I have to register. That's crap.

I've bought several from Bud's without any problems. I've also bought several from Shooters Connection http://shootersconnectionstore.com/ great prices and even better customer service.

it's a Glock policy not the retailers'

they're just punishing you for turning to the "dark side" ;)

if i wanted a good price on a Glock, i'd join the GSSF...their discount is better than the LE/Military one

I don't think the GSSF is cheaper than the LE/Military thing. I just picked up a G19 for $419 and the salesman told me about the GSSF and said it was for some of my friends that couldn't qualify for the LE/Military program. You also have to pay an annual fee for the club and can only buy one weapon per year. I (as retired military) can buy as many as my wallet/wife will allow

I've had good experiences at gunbroker, and to be able to review sellers' feedback is useful to me.

I've also heard a lot of good things about Whittaker's Guns. (http://www.whittakerguns.com/) I haven't bought anything from Whittaker's, but they've been polite and pleasant when I've phoned them to inquire about things. They also seem to update their listings frequently. I learned of Whittaker's here at THR, possibly in the thread linked here. (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=320695)

For your match AR needs (uppers and parts only), John Holliger at White Oak (http://www.whiteoakarmament.com/) is top notch.

My best purchasing experiences, not surprisingly, have been transactions with fellow THR members. (http://www.thehighroad.org/forumdisplay.php?f=21)
