Is that two bayonet lugs in that pic?

That's a killer deal, considering the handguard costs $110 bought separately. The Saiga and Bulgrarian base weapons Arsenal uses are very good platforms. And Arsenal does quality work. One of the reviews in G&A showe the writer shooting 2" groups with iron sights on an Arsenal 7.62x39.

Congrats!

Is that two bayonet lugs in that pic? No, one is an accessory lug.

Pictured with a possible accessory:

jlott00 - that is indeed a good deal. Nice catch! Was it a one shot type deal, or are there more to be had?

Was it a one shot type deal, or are there more to be had? You should probably get out more. :neener:

K-Var has halved their prices (in some cases, more than halved) on their Legion Saigas in their current sale. This sale is the subject of numerous threads on this and many other Kalashnikov-centric boards.

Very good deal. I picked up one of KVAR's $499 converted Saiga models. That's cheaper than what it cost me to do my first one myself. I still have my sense of accomplishment -- but I paid about an extra $75-$100 to get it. I guess you call this a win-win.

The SGL is definitely a great deal for five bills (but not for the $800 regular price). One nice thing about the "factory" conversion is that you get a lot of nice AK-103 features that would otherwise be expensive, annoying, or labor intensive to do in a Saiga conversion at home--bayonet/accessory lugs, compatible handguard retainer, threaded front sight block, proper rivets, and a lack of the two holes in the receiver needed for the regular Saiga axis pins. For the last one, I'm not sure if Arsenal welds over those holes, or imports "semi-finished" guns with the trigger guard already moved forward.

None of these really affect the function of the gun, but for the current sale price they are nice to have basically thrown in.

Does anyone know what kind of feed ramp is used on the K-var conversions?

Couldn't say. It is held in with one rivet like the Bulgarian units that K-var sells.

^That answers my question. It sounds solid.
