Gentlemen,

I am hoping your sage input will settle a suspicion that I have had for quite some time. Over the years, I have owned several Colts and a few Kimbers (full size, Officers, and Compacts) and the Colts just "seem" to "feel" better in my hand. It makes me wonder if the Colt dimensions are just a bit smaller or perhaps its because the Kimber grip safety adds a little move in the fore and aft dimension. Any input or opinions are greatly appreciated.

Hands are different and different makes will feel better/worse to different people. That's why it's so important to try before you buy. I like the way Enhanced Colts feel in the hand.

Hello Dave (Bet you loved the movie, Space Odyssey 2001),

Your comment of "Hands are different and different makes will feel better/worse to different people." infers an entirely subjective understanding and hap hazard gun buying process. But, when you endorse the Enhanced Colts for your own preference, you are overlooking the points that served as a pre-requisite to my question. Using your example (and I, too, like the Enhanced version), I think the Enhanced version feels great because of the trigger guard undercut unique to that model. Likewise, my question is suggesting that the dimenstions of the Kimber's grip safety and, possibly, its frame do not offer the more familiar and more preferred "feel". While we all are susceptible to our own subjective preferences, often, the Devil is in the Details.
