Does anyone have the Peltor Tac 6s muffs...

I have recently acquired a pair of Peltor Tac 6s's, but they did not have an instructions sheet with them. I know absolutely nothing about them, inculding how to change the battery. I have the Tac 7's, and the battery is on the outside on them.
If anyone has a pair with the instruction sheet, I would be more than happy to pay your copying and shipping costs to get a copy of the instructions.
Feel free to PM me, and we will get it worked out.
Thanks,
Bob

I havent played with mine in a couple months (been at school since the beginning of September), but I think you just pull the shell and the sealing piece (the rubbery part that seals against your head) away from each other. Each side takes two AAAs from what I remember, and there werent a whole lot of instructions.

Triple-A batteries. They are changed by pulling from one end of the padded seal (I think the top end). It snaps off and back on the same way, after batt install. Each side uses two batts and is completely independent of the other.
Beware- these will die if you let them get sweaty. First thing to cause trouble is the battery contact, it will corrode. The circuit board is essentially exposed directly to the environment between your ear and the thin foam inside the earpiece. The foam is not a moisture seal.
I killed a pair of these after three days at Gunsite in hot weather.
The model 7 seems a lot better.

It doesn't get that hot around here (just 115 or so), but it is a dry heat. Hawaii rained all the time, but I never seemed to spend more than a few hours in the rain wearing muffs. I've never had any of my Tac-6 (I have three sets) break on me due to moisture, either during three years in Hawaii or the last four years here in the West Texas desert.
Then again, I've never had my Tac-7 (I have two sets) break due to moisture either.
I'm an instructor, and spend a lot of time on the range...I have many spare electronic ears because I hate yelling at my students (unless I have to) :) As others smarter than I have said, just pop the earcup off the outer shells. The battery directions (plus/minus) are printed on the circuit board.

I know I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but didn't think I was that dull:D . I have looked at my Tac 6's, and pulled on the part that seals around the ear, but it doesn't seem to want to budge. Looks to me like I am about to tear the black plastic on the seal. That is what I need to pull on, right??:banghead:

Yeah, they just tug off.
I just got mine off after a couple of months with no shooting and I can't get the freaking black pads to snap back in place. It's almost as if the body got larger or the pads shrunk. Funny thing is I've change the batteries several times before without any fuss...

Don't pull on the black foam earcup itself - use your fingertip to gently pry the earcup loose from the inside. Like you're sticking your finger inside the hole in a doughnut and gently lifting it. The gray foam should either lay freely on the circuit board, or be tacked on with 1-2 spots of glue - just lift it up gently, and the batteries will be exposed at the bottom half.
I loved my Tac-6's, until I lost them at the range one day :( - so I replaced them with Peltor's Com-Tac's. :D
