I thought i may be coming into a Swede Mauser (1943 Husqvarna) action...

First thought.. sweet here comes my basis for a custom or scout rifle... then me investigates some more and a find out the 6.5 Swede has a boltface for a .480 case head... and the "regular" mauser 8mm or 7mm or .308 or .257 or .243 or any caliber of that case head family id like to make has a boltface of .473

are all these interchangeble ? is .007 inch that big a deal ? do i have to get a new bolt ? or should i just make a 6.5 swede rifle...

can a swede mauser be converted ? at how much cost? .. am i in for a big disapointment ?
thanks in advance

No, it shouldn't be a problem as Kimber had converted many to .243 and .308 IIRC.

I doesn't matter. In fact domestic loadings of 6.5x55 use the standard .473 casehead dimension.

Just don't go overboard. The small ring mausers aren't as strong as the later 1898 model.
