I need to find a place with a valid FFL in AZ (preferrably the Tempe/Mesa area) to do a transfer for me. I've found two places so far. One for $40, one for $50:what: . Can anyone help me with a less expensive local alternative? I'm buying an inexpensive surplus rifle, so a place that's does a % charge would be great.

GunsAmerica has a transfer finder service located here: http://www.gunsamerica.com/transfer.cgi

The only thing is I don't have any experience with any of those, so I can't recommend anythign personally.

I go to Guns Plus in Surprise, I've never done a transfer with him, but he is fair and honest. I'd imagine 10% of cost but don't know for sure. Talk to Ken or Kelli, they are the owners

Go to www.auctionarms.com

On the top, click on 'Find a FFL'

Enter your state in the form. I saw 4 FFL's for Mesa, two charged $25, and the other two charged $20.

Shotgun News has a FFL locator online, as does Gunbroker. There was also a Net FFL List that may be down now.

I'd never pay a percentage. They are providing a service, which should be a flat rate, considering there is no more difficulty transferring a $200 gun than a $2000 gun.

Guns Plus charges $30 + 10%. I love shopping there, but that's silly.

In prinicpal, I agree. As a guy looking to buy an $90 dollar rifle, it looks more attractive.:)

Could be wrong but I thought ARizona Firearms and Collectibles on Priest and University was around $25. (480) 968-7481 been a long time since I was there tho.

Guys at Bear Arms are great too.

If you lived down here, Jason Barrett could hook you up for $20, but I think the gas cost will make up the difference...

Actually, I might be heading to Tucson soon. I'll PM if you beforehand, if that's ok?

No need to PM me. If you do decide to do it down here, let him know through his website at http://www.barrettarms.com

The site says $25, but everytime I do it, it's $20  but I am fine with $20.

Nice guy to talk with too.
