Any Michael Moore Fans In Here?
I suspect the percentage of Mikey "lieing pompous gasbag" Moore fans in this forum will be significantly less than 0.0000000001 %

Its too bad no one will do a slander film about Hitlary Klinton, and release it right before she runs for president.

I clearly recall Hillary stating that she has no interest in running for president -- just like a few years earlier she stated that she had no intention of running for the Senate.

I do not believe you have sensed the sarcasm. I think PABAAH is looking for ANTI-MOORE people to help pre-empt a 9/11 film
"We at PABAAH (Patriotic Americans Boycotting Anti-American Hollywood) are beginning to organize a concerted effort to protest/boycott the Michael Moore 9/11 conspiracy film, Fahrenheit 911, due out in theatres next year. We feel this film will be nothing more than an insult to the memories of the victims of 9/11 and is a political attack piece aimed at President Bush. This is over the top and tramples on sacred ground. "

LOL--Sorry all, I should have been more clear. Exactly, we are looking for others who might help us spread the word and coordinate protests/boycotts vs this vile anti-American...I would think many in here would be interested...

Actually, I like some of Moore's stuff. He's very funny, and he's spot-on about Bush. Don't like his positions on gun control, but consider him a real patriotic American.

Malone doesn't mean any harm...
He just likes to push conservative folks' buttons.:D
Unlike Mikey Moore, who is a malevolent attention-seeking buffoon with
the political sense of Barbra Streisand :scrutiny:

Moore is a raving imbecile who's grasp of economics is infantile at best.
His grasp of narrative, while workmanlike in 'Roger and Me' seems to be slipping, so much so that 'Bowling for Columbine' came across as a slipshod piece of idiocy that had been edited together by someone with no short-term memory and a serious case of ADHD.
As for his next movie, bah.
A pox on him.
Oh, and since this isn't directly gun-related, I'm going to move it to L&P.

I think that 9-11 film is going to blow up in his face like a big bag of doggy doo strapped to a claymore. Anybody who trusts this guy after BFC is not going to be swayed by facts anyway.

Michael Shmendrick is making a 9/11 film? That's original. Good for Mikey. I'm sure it will be filled with all sorts of fun pseudo-facts and love for G.W.B.

They don't have an Oscar for the category "Furtherest from Reality" do they?
Mikey More(Less) is very funny. I can't wait to watch him make a bigger fool of himself and the Hollywood Halfwits than he already has.

I enjoyed both "Roger & Me" and "The Big One" because he is spot on about the economic shenanigans of corporate America. "Bowling for Columbine" was a complete hatchet job as he, unintentionally, proved his point that there's really nothing to fear from the volume of guns in private hands. I do agree with his assertion that this nation thrives on paranoia. Look at the news and at the government; it's in both of their interests to whip up as much fear as possible for ratings and to gain more powers.

I would disagree that he's on THE right track, but he is saying things that need to be heard. I'm secure enough in my beliefs that I don't feel threatened when he happens to gore an ox that I'm fond of.

It's more than just disagreement.
Sure there is disagreement about what the role of government in our lives should be. Should, for example, government provide national health care or do more to protect labor unions? That is a point of philosophical disagreement. I happen to think the government can play a positive role in the economy. I also like labor unions, don't trust corporations and want to protect the environment. Others on THR disagree with me and that's fine. But I can't then go out and make up statistics or make up facts to prove that I'm right.
Some of Moore's facts are patently, provably false. That's what Moore's problem is - he just makes stuff up in BFC. His older shows such as the Awful Truth and TV nation(which were actually pretty funny) are basically polemics. He's advancing a viewpoint by using satire. Nothing wrong with that. Some of the criticisms of BFC are just examples of Moore using his artistic license to make a point, to tell a story. But many of the criticisms point to a very deceptive use of the facts and at at least one point he just lies. That's unacceptable, and it's wrong. It's also an abuse of trust.

Are you saying that you think lying and making up factoids is "the right track"?
You must then make some adjustments to your habit of becoming annoyed at Zedicus and Keith when they present an argument which you feel is not in accord with the facts......
perhaps a simple "yes, you're on the right track..."?
Mike Moore's style is to promote misinformation and then hide behind the claim that it is humour. He actively promotes lies.
I think Mike would be a fine editor for "The Sun".:)

Given that the White House, the CIA and NORAD are not cooperating with the commission investigating the 9/11 attacks, I welcome this film from Micheal Moore. It will probably suck, but anything that gets americans pissed and leaning on their congressional representatives, I applaud.
Oh, and George Bush sat on his rear-end and did nothing while his country was attacked, preventing a response. I'll never forgive him for that.:cuss:

Written by and for the truly divisive democrat.:D
But you are correct in that Moore's film will be another disappointmnet.
It's all he can produce using his style of lies, misinformation and pseudo class warfare indignation.
It may be reprehensible, but it seems to be the democrat strategy this election cycle.:barf:

I don't like Michael Moore, I don't share his points of view, and I think that his methods of work are pretty poor.
I watched BFC and read Stupid White Men and found both rather pathetic.
BUT (and that's a big but) he (as every other guy) has every right to make movies, write books and present stupid speeches at the Academy Awards.
Boycott him if you like (I do that, too), but DON'T tell me or anyone else that there's some political topic nobody is allowed to comment on or produce works about. Declaring something as holy and sacred is the first step towards censorship.

Right on Trooper! If the movie is boycotted he will look like a martyr, if people get to see it he will look like a moron.

George Bush-- the guy who sat reading to grade schoolers when he could have stopped 9/11-- has done more to insult the memories of those who died on that day, with the PATRIOT act, his using their deaths to get away with attacking Iraq to settle a personal family score, his lack of support for armed pilots and the people's ability to defend against terrorism by owning arms, his flagrant disregard for the constitution with the TSA and its bull???? non-security "security"--- and for using their deaths as a campaign platform to shore up his political numbers.... than anything Micheal Moore can do in one of his movies.
A movie is just a movie. You want a real insult to those people --- look what our president has done in their name!
As to defending the country, he has ZERO accomplishments-- he's faught any investigation into 9/11, he's failed to capture Osama Bin Laden and he isn't even trying to fight terrorism at all. He's just increasing tyranical power in the hands of hte president.
The buck must stop somewhere. Who's responsible? (Yeah, clinton, that's right, Clinton is making Bush do everything he does. Amazing powers that clinton has!)
