What is good powder/load to use in 9mm in sub compact Glock 26, I have been using Berry's plated 115gr. RN. I tried Unique and the accuracy is good, but there is a large muzzle flash showing that a lot of the powder is burning outside the barrel so I assume I am losing some velocity in that load. I also tried Accurate No. 5 with good tight groups at 20 yards. Any other powders/loads suggestions for the Glock 26 would be appreciated.

I would try Bullseye.

I think 700X is cleaner than bullseye. I switched over to it years ago.

Some powders have flash suppressants. Off hand I don't remember which ones do that are suitable for 9MM, but that will do a great deal to eliminate the big flash.

The Vihtavuori powders are generally low flash, but there are others as well. Search "low flash powders" here on THR

For plinking loads and a bit less muzzle flash use a faster powder, Bullseye, Red Dot, Tightgroup, 700x, etc. You can find a burn rate chart at Hodgdon's website and other places. You use less fast powder so there's less of a flash.

If you load JHP's and are looking for velocity, then Unique will give you better performance out of any length barrel than faster powders.

I've heard excellent things about Ramshot Silhouette. It is supposed to duplicate the old Winchester WAP powder that was discontinued a few years back. Silhouette is supposed to be a great powder in 9mm just like WAP was. I have also heard that it is one of the powders with a flash suppressant.

Sorry, I know it's all second hand knowledge but I've heard both things from multiple sources.

I've read that Hodgdon Universal has a low muzzle flash in spite of performing very similar to Unique.

In use Titegroup and it seems to work fine with 115, 124 and 147 gr bullets.

I just shoot 200 rounds with my sig p229 in 40 cal that I loaded using ramshots true blue and it was great low flash and not a hard recoil and accurate. I would like to try Silhouette but I can't seem to find any locally.

The load i used was 6.9gr of true blue, with a 165gr berrys flat point.

With the Berry's 115 grain RN plated bullet, I use SR-7625. Very accurate in my XD-SC pistols and measures well.

Hope this helps.
