I recently had the joy of downloading america's army 2.0, which comes with a bunch of new stuff (including but not limited to; m4's that are actually modular, acessories like the ACOG tao1nsn, suppressors, bipods, and other sundries, the SPR, a bunch of new combloc weapons, like the RPG7, and a whole new class of soldier, the green beret.) that's the good news.

The bad news? You have to have a minimum of 15 honor to play as a special forces soldier. (in addition to the qualification missions) THis equates of roughtly 12 hours of playing the game online without screwing up before you can use the new features. If you're good. there are also no training levels with the new weapons, so the only way to shoot them is to become a specops soldier.

I've been playing for weeks now and I just got back up to 10 honor after losing honor points due to having people run out in front of my saw at close range. I really would like to play with the other weapons, but I don't have enough honor to do so.

Damn, I've probably played the game 1-3 hours a week since it first came out, and I have a whole smoking 12 honor. (I did spend an afternoon at honor 9 when several morons ran in a door after a rolled a grenade in) :(

Did they revamp the accuracy system at all, I understand they tweaked the iron sights but did they actually change the they way they work? I can't stand how in previous versions in iron sight mode your bullets can still miss by a freakin mile while your sights are dead on target... I absolutely can not stand having and iron sight that doesn't work right, if they want to make it where I can't hit ???? that's fine, my sights should be jumping and wobbling around on screen making me miss, not some bullcrap built in cone fire accuracy system throwing the shots off while the sights are on target perfectly...

I'm not even going to bother this time around. It's halfassed attempt at realism and long periods of waiting between rounds kills the game for me. Not to mention trying to hold on to honor is more trouble then its worth. Instead I’ll be playing *PLUG* Red Orchestra *PLUG* (http://www.unrealwarfarex.com/redorchestra/) where little yellow dots dont magicly float around telling me where to aim. ;)

Damnit, I don't have a valid version of UT2k3 to play that mod with online :( , looks/sounds cool... (how this is the first I've heard of it I don't know...) There aren't any cracked servers for it are there?

I might download it after the load on the servers decreases in a week. I'm still disappointed with the sighting system in the game:

1. Sight alignment is always perfect; the game simulates breathing but the sights are never out of alignment - sight picture just wobbles about.
2. The type-to-aim thing. If your sights aren't up, you're not aiming, just point shooting. My field of vision doesn't have a crosshair.
3. If only my sights and target were simultaneously in focus in real life...

I haven't played AA since 1.9 came out and I only played that long enough to qualify as a medic.

Because of this, my account has apparently expired. The only way I can reactivate it is by requesting a new password, which will go to a defunct email address. Add to that that there's no way to contact AA directly, so I'm a bit peeved.

The now deleted map, FLS, allowed players to gain honor rather easily. Defense got a lot of points via kills and assault almost always won. In effect, everybody won. I guess that's why they killed the map. Defense was great: 4 vs the world.
