Just out of curiousity , does anyone have the Encore Pistol in a 243 and if so what kinda groups are you getting at 100yrds and what kinda ammo are you using? Im thinking of trying one with the Remmy coreloc 100 grainers.

Here is a pic of mine in .308 win. It has a 2-6x32 Bushnell elite on it and leupold base and rings. The gun will shoot sub-moa off the bench with handloads. Best group has been .798 (3) shot with a average being .914 so just a hair under 1 moa. The best factory load I have found has been 165 grain SST from the Hornady custom ammo line. My handloads are 168 gr a-max using rl-15 and winchester primers. These bullets were set to .015 off the lands. The factory ammo produces a average grouping of 1.16 inches off of a bench. Longest shot I have ever taken was a cantaloupe at 250 yards. I missed first shot (jerked) but it exploded on the 2nd. Just figure with a 15" barrel it will be just about as accurate as a EBR with a 16" if you do your part. Good guns that are a heck of alot of fun to shoot. I'll be taking this to western Kansas for a mule deer hunt in December.

I have a contender G2 with three barrels 7-30 waters, 44 mag and 22LR
The 7-30 barrel is made by bullberry and I have shot 1/2" at 100 with factory ammo
and my hand loads.
the 44mag I had some problems getting it to groop untill i tryed 200grn bullets and now im in there 1/2 at 50 yds
the 22LR will shoot 1/2"at 50 yds with rem bulk ammo
now all of this is when i do my part. It took me quite awhile to learn how to shoot a pistol long distance now im looking at the 300 yd line for my 7-30. hope this helps..

Ive got a contender G2 with three barrels a 7-30 waters,44mag and 22LR
all of them will shoot (when i do my part)
The 7-30 ive shot 1/2'' at 100 with factory ammo and my hand loads.
the 22LR and 44mag 1/2 at 50 yds
All of mine are scoped and it took me quite awhile to learn how to shoot distance with a pistol.
Ive tryed a 140 grn Rem corloc out of my 7-30 and I cant run fast enough for the bullet to expand acording to Rem I need to get 2500 RPM and i can onley get 2250 out of a 15'' barrel. call rem it might be different for a 100grn pill.

On my hunting handguns I use a Burris 4x, a Leupold 4x, and a Bushnell 2-6, I like the bushnell better than the others by far. As stated in other post it takes a ton of practice to hit at a long range with a handgun. Does not matter what caliber your running. So hit the range and hang out a while. Try a few diffrent factory loads to see what your gun likes. My Encore loves 95 grain SST in the rifle configuration. Good luck and have fun.

Um, are you all loading those .243s with real black powder or one of the substitutes? Maybe Triple 7?:D

You do know you can put just about any centerfire barrel you could think of on a Encore right. Yes I also have a M/L barrel as well.
