Im looking for a good side by side in 12 gauge that I wont have to take out a loan for. I was looking at the navy arms SxS on there site but I cant find it anywhere. The black powder only thing doesnt bother me. Its an excuse to get some more reloading stuff. Im hoping theres something out there with screw in chokes. I would like to shoot slugs and buck shot with it. Thanks for any help.

The Stoeger SXS is very common in Cowboy shooting and seems to hold up well. It is not perfect but it is cheap enough to work with.

Thanks for the fast reply. I like the price of the stoeger but i like the english stock on the navy arms. I need to find some good reviews.

Well, there is no accounting for tastes.

I think Navy Arms advertising a new made hammerless double rated only for black powder is very strange. I wonder where they are getting them, Dara, Pakistan, maybe.

I have a Stoeger Coach Gun I paid about $250 for a couple of years ago. Met my needs for a lupara.

I found a Stevens 5100 in 20 gauge made in the late 40s for $100. Bluing well worn but tight and useful gun.

What will you use it for?
How much do you want to pay?

If you want to shoot slugs, go for a 500 or 870 pump. Slugs don't go so good out of a choked sxs. The solder can crack. And non choked ones can drive you crazy sighting them in, cause a sxs ain't made to be aimed, it's made to be swung.
