I wanted to go to www.candlepowerforums.com to get info on a flashlight I was interested in, but the site comes up "...this domain is reserved..." !!!

Its home page comes up okay, but when you try to get to a specific area of the forum, that "reserved domain" notice comes up.

Am I doing something wrong?

Do I have the incorrect web address?

 :what:

Thanks...

There is a recent thread on this at Candlepower. No response as to what is going on just yet. I'll check it later today to see if there is any update.

Candlepower thread (http://www.candlepowerforums.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB26&Number=385576&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1)

Here is a suggestion from the thread. Hopefully this is OK to post.

It seems that the CPF domain has either been hijacked, or there was an attempt to hijack it, or a major DNS server has been mis-programmed.

Getting in to do ANYTHING is a minor inconvenience, but it's a major pain in the --- to log in or post.

To get in to at least browse, you must replace the CPF URL with the proper IP:

209.67.62.186

Every time you go to a new page, this must be done. If you want to post or login, you must save a local copy of the page, then replace the URL with 209.67.62.186 and then save it and open it locally.

Like I said, it's a major pain in the ---

Same here. I still can't get on.

Anyone know the secret handshake? :(

Anyone know the secret handshake? Secret handshake = 209.67.62.186 but you have to replace "www.candlepowerforums.com" with this IP everytime you browse.

You can also make an addition to your windows "hosts" file as a workaround until they get the DNS issues resolved.

Here is a direct link to the CPF thread on this if interested.

Does anyone know what's going on with the site, and why it does not work by normal logging on?

From one of the CPF mods:
The problem is that the domain name is not pointing to the correct server which is Digital Princeton. DO NOT start bashing our server or emailing them or otherwise blaming or harrassing them for our problems!!! This is not their fault and they are under no obligation whatsoever to fix it!! However, Steve at Digital Princeton was kind enough to help me out tonight and the fix has been made. The bad news is that it will take some time. We will have to wait for it to propagate through YOUR servers! This is not something that CPF or DomainDiscover or Digital Princeton can speed up or control. You will just have to wait it out.
