Any difference/preference between the two? Will be used in a 1:9 rifle with iron sights. Prices are pretty much the same. I am looking at ammoman.com (http://www.ammoman.com/index.htm).

The only difference I can tell is that the Lithuanian come packaged in ammo cans.

if you're talking about prvi's m855 (i wasn't aware they made ss109), it sucks. skip it. their m193 is quality stuff though.

Thanks for the info Taliv. I thought SS109 and M855 were the same thing. Is there a difference?

SS109 is 62 grain penetrators M855 is 62 grain ball ammo. I have shot alot of the Privi M193 55 grain ball and have no complaints. Privi ammo is good stuff and reloadable brass to boot. I see Privi as Europe's Lake City.

SS109 is an old designation for the bullet used in M855. It is a 62gr bullet with a steel inside piece (tip behind the jacket) and lead behind that. It is not considered armor-piercing by US military standards so it is "ball" in US military terminology.

M855 ammo has the SS109 bullet. Some ammo that has SS109 bullets does not meet M855 specs, usually due to lower velocity than required of M855.

Prvi is good but the GGG Lithuanian stuff is probably better. I base this only on reading and not on shooting them side by side, however.
