I only buy from countries that win wars and don't still have people walking around with leprosy.

Oh yeah... definitely a no-no... I got lucky when I didn't know any better and used 100 rounds through an FAL I had just bought... all it did was vary from shot to shot between throwing brass across 5 shooting lanes to not even ejecting the brass at all... and every distance in between.

I guess my first clue shoulda been that the gun shop I bought the ammo from had 4 bins of surplus .308. 3 of those bins were empty, and the 4th bin... Indian stuff, had plenty.

Where the Indian shoots 6 inch groups, the Aussie stuff will group around an inch.

Same thing happened with a buddy of mine. He bought some Indian .308 for his M1A (don't know what comes over folks ;) ). He also had a squib exactly as described above. He also caught it in time, and I'm glad he did, considering I was one stall over, and my right ear was about 4 ft away from his receiver. He also told me that he'd found some loose projectiles afterwards.

Baaadddd stuff.

I am out of the milsurp business. I got a batch of portuguese .308 milsurp. Won't cycle the FN FAL. Moved it to a bolt and it is a tight fit (more like a squeeze). Something is definitely wrong. The again, maybe the "buying from contries that win wars" is the right approach.

A lot of folks seem to like the Portugese stuff.

Indian isnt that bad.... I've shot half a case of some presorted stuff without anyproblems..... abit weak however, I have to set gas to 3 for cycling.

Accuracy is bad. With this gun I can do 2-3" groups all day long with SA or port.... with the indian I shoot for MoPP(minute of paper plate)

Hard to beat the price I got it for... 1000 @ $129 OTD... (from JGsales) had it picked up by a relative in AZ... no s&h :)

And it's reloadable.

It's a gamble... but so far JGs claim that is has been "presorted" appears good. Cheers.
