I have heard that a small (I cannot remember the charge) charge of Bullseye smokeless was safe in that revolver. In fact, Freedom Arms used to build similar guns in black powder and included a powder scoop to be used for Bullseye. At least, that's what I understand. I think you might want to research that and maybe someone here that knows will add details. I don't remember the details.

There was a thread here back in january 08 I'd put in a link but don't know how. Search for "NAA companion bullseye" that should get you there

Thread is from May of 06. It's claiming one grain (that's a grain weight, don't really want to calculate what that is in grams) of Bullseye. It will be faster and cleaner than 4F black powder. Question is, though, is smokeless powder available in Spain????

Hi Romel,
What kind of bullets are you using? Are they round balls or conicals? A round ball might leave more room for powder.

What about .22 cal. air gun pellets (5.588mm)?
Or maybe take some .25 cal. air gun pellets and push them through the barrel to make them the right size to fit the chamber (6.35)?
And load with 777 fffg or ffffg black powder.

In Spain to have weapon of muzzleloader it is necessary to possess a license that the police give you, the weapon takes each one his(her, your) documentation and every 5 years you have to present them in the police station for review, have a weapon without the documentation or license is a crime.
When you possess the license of muzzleloader you can buy black gunpowder (few armories have it) and his(her, your) price is approximately 65 Euros / k.
To be able to buy the smokeless it is necessary to have a special permission of the police and do a course of it he recharges(overloads) of catbridge
From Spain we see to the United States as a country favoured in everything relating to the weapon, here be fond of the weapon this evil I dress for the society, they treat like a delinquent

Thanks to all for the answers, already I have proved with the air pellets of 22 lime. And he(she) still has them sluggish(weak), my doubt was if the Companion it resists the pressure of the smokeless powder, a greeting ;)

After reading several threads on the subject my conclusion is that it is safe to use Bullseye (1 gr) in the LR Companion. Probably not safe to use Bullseye in Super Companion.
Numerous people did this and get pretty good velocities. I would say a Companion loaded with Bullseye produces more power than a .22 LR cartridge mini. Velocities would be closer to .22 Mag Mini because the powder is so fast.
I was trying to find out if anyone had tried to load the Companion with powder from .22 nail gun blanks. Those are available everywhere there's construction going on. However, I've been cautioned against it due to the fact that the characteristics of the .22 blank powder are unknown. If you want to risk it, I would use the weakest .22 blank available. You might blow the cylinder, however. I would love to see someone do it, but I'm not willing to be the test subject.
To sum it all up, a Companion loaded with Bullseye is as good if not better than a cartridge mini. A Companion loaded with black is a joke.

Triple Seven is 15% hotter than std. black powder, and produces a right barky little load for the mini revolvers...

I use Triple Seven 3fff in everything, including the North American Arms .22 Mini Mag Revolver. No problems that I know about....
