American Soldiers in WWII
Called "The Greatest Generation", host Peter Woodward and the Conquest Team examine the weapons and tactics of U.S. soldiers in WWII. Peter and the team learn about and fire a remarkable range of historical weapons--from the dependable Thompson submachine gun to a variety of mortars and grenades. After an intense session of field training, the team takes on a final high-ammo challenge. Will a tank be enough to help them triumph against a German squad? TV PG

I don't see it on Sunday after Mail Call anymore and am wondering what the status of the show is, since Extreme History has taken its place.

I saw it last night. It was pretty bad-???. I have watched some episodes of the "Conquest" series but this is definitely a new twist in the show's programming content. I hope they continue with this theme by adding episodes that focus on the equipment and tactics of the German, Russian, Italian, Japanese, British and other armies that fought in WWII. I would find that very compelling.

Of course, the stud star is showing shooting without hearing protection and then demos a tommy gun in full auto into the water and then has the student do it.

If you go to http://www.historychannel.com/ontv you can see when their shows are set to air. However, they're currently shuffling Conquest around and / or phasing it out. No next episode scheduled in the next 9 days.


They're doing better on protection when shooting (hearing) but no one had safety glasses on. :banghead:

There was some decent thompson / Garand action, but the tactics bit was pretty bad at the end. Too bad they're going to can the show.
